The above phrase is ringing in my head all night after listening to Zig Zigler. There is so much truth in it, if a mountain is smooth without jagged edges, there is no need to call it a "climb", a "walk" is adequate.
A walk in the park is easier than a mountain climb, why climb then? Walk is boring, that's why. How many rounds can one walk? This preference definetely depends on our own personality drivers. If there is no dangers and no difficulty, where is the fun then? I think the animal instinct in us stays quite dormant in the modern life (no hunting or being hunted) but more often than not, the need to have the adrenalin rushed is expressed in non-condusive ways or can't be channelled out properly. The fix is a proper channel (like route to market) out.
Reflecting on the career advices that I had picked up along the way from very successful leaders...
- 1st from Mr. JC - imagine your work is your own business
- 2nd from Mr. KS - do not work for money, money is byproduct of work
- 3rd from Mr. LL - love your staff and they will "die" for you
- 4th from Mr. GW - no matter what, always go back to the basic principle
- 5th from Mr. CB - it is not which job you do but how you do the job that counts
What has climbing the mountain to do with career advices? 1/3 of everything.
The other 2/3 is family and spiritual health.
Just Do It.
