Breath of Fire

Being attending several yoga classes by now, Vinyasa, Astanga and Kundalini. Yoga is a vast subject, I am quite sure many PHDs can be done on it. I went to search what's what and become more confused...ha ha. Confusion is good, it just means more work has to be done.

Anyway, in my gym, the least popular yoga class among all yoga classes is the one that focus on breathing - Kundalini. Poor Guru Dev has only 2 students today.

In the classical literature of Kashmir Shaivism, kundalini is described in three different manifestions. The first of these is as the universal energy or para-kundalini. The second of these is as the energizing function of the body-mind complex or prana-kundalini. The third of these is as consciousness or shakti-kundalini which simultaneously subsumes and intermediates between these two. Ultimately these three forms are the same but understanding these three different forms will help to understand the differerent manifestations of kundalini.
747

I went for a trip to Genting and while on the way up and down, I saw the number "747", a number that a particular bus company uses to brand its busses. And as usual I am quite aware of big or small vehicles on the road and will observe the driving behaviours of these drivers. Saw a couple of 747s and they are driving as expected, not speeding even though they are coming downhill from Genting. For some reason, 747 strikes me that it will come out in today's Draw (not that I am a follower) and guess what, it did, 0747.

My new adventure

I have finally joined one. A gym that is. Bell has been asking me to join hers since the day I came back but i have been procrastinating due to the "work pattern" of mine. Work pattern still remains irregular, what's certain is health, the most important asset. So, I went to try and then after some cost benefit analysis evaluation, decided to join. What I like about the gym are the location, their yoga classes and the shower. They have so many classes of other types. It is pretty free on the weekends which suits me fine, no need to "sesak sesak". I also found out that the club manager is my uni senior, not seen him for years.
I hope my friends will join too for more fun and support.

Chen Fatt

Is the name of a Chinese restaurant along Jalan Besar Sri Kembangan that serves very nice food. I was told the dishes are Hakka and that they have been operating for 20-30 years. Price is normal (not cheap). My attendance is twice last week. We first tried it some many many years ago and it has been a long time for us to make a comeback.

What are the differences between chinese and western fine dining restaurants? I wonder if anyone within the age group of 30 and below would organise a birthday gathering in a chinese restaurant? Not many would, I guess. Ambience is a big difference, chinese restaurants are noisy and loud and mostly lack in hygiene compare to its western counterparts.

Sigh...talk about a culture losing its popularity to other more dominant culture...

Being Happy

"Many people think that if they were only in some other place, or had some other jobs, they would be happy.

Well, that is doubtful. So get as much happiness out of what you are doing as you can and don't put off being happy until some future date"

...are phrases stuck on my colleague's cubicle in the plant. He is one happy guy.
Broadband

Finally, i have the broadband. Life is without broadband internet for several months. Though it is not a major issue, it is not minor as well, it has come to a point that much of the human civilisation is dependant on technology. I wonder what's next, what's after the internet revolution?

A life's choices

Naturally there are 2 schools of thoughts at opposing ends, at one end a belief in some pre-arranged "fate" and another end "free will". I think I wrote about free will before, nevertheless, today's discussion is the view from a 3rd party's perspective. When one dies, how would one like to be remembered? What would the obituary column in the newspaper says? We all like to say good things about people and likewise to be remembered for the good things too. This is important in the "who refers to who's world", in my opinion as important as it is, it doesn't really matters. Everybody moves on with time. What is most important is the life's choices of a man during his days and how many life's he has affected.
What decisions have I make today?

Negative ions or position ions

The more negative ions the better, as they purify the air and by attracting particles and then it becomes too heavy to be airborne, hence particles falls to the floor. Nature has a lot of negative ions, which makes us feels good.

So far, to generate negative ions one can use generators (air purifiers), I wonder what are the other ways to generate negative ions in the home?
My war against tv

Recently, I sort of declare war against watching tv, it is not that I used to watch a lot, however now even less, not even 1-2 hours a week. Why not? I really think passive information is not required nor entertaining and certainly lack of intellectual stimulation. Preference for entertainment changes. What a waste of time for this generation of kids and young adults.
